Qualifications

John is an honours graduate in Music from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, one of the top music conservatoires in the world, achieving a 2:1 honours degree in music. This is the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree.

PPRNCMs
He also gained a Professional Performance diploma as a soloist, which deemed him of the standard to become a professional soloist.

PPRNCMs merit
With Tubalaté he gained a merit in the chamber music Professional Performance diploma, which deemed him of the standard to be a professional ensemble musician.

John received grade 8 on the euphonium at the age of 15 without having had lessons, but is most proud of his grade 8 in theory which is tricky!
